This unique piece integrates the rugged nature of denim with the colorful character of vintage, dyed cotton patchwork, and is intended to honor the long Appalachian heritage of combining function and form in everyday life • utility and beauty • necessity and thoughtfulness • chore jacket and symbolic embellishment. Thrifted large denim chore jacket from Mutual Weave. Reimagined with thrifted hand stitched and pieced quilt squares appliqué.  The original quilter is unknown. Appliqué was applied by hand with machine stitched edging.
