Atelier Havier Vintage 17th Century Italian Silk and Linen "Dot" Brocade with Vintage Blue Linen Blend Handkerchief 2

$200.00

Made in the late 1600s, this fabric was most likely part of a tapestry that hung in a wealthy family’s home. Brocade was a very time intensive weaving technique using multiple threads along with the warp and weft to create raised patterns that resembled embroidery. This is a museum quality piece woven before the advent of the Jacquard loom (which led to the Brocade boom in the victorian era in 1804) and while maybe not the most functional handkerchief, it is sure to be the most unique in your collection.

Approx 12x12 with some imperfections due to its AGE… OVER 300 YEARS OLD
